Training courses in energy policy for third countries
The European Commission, DG XVII, has launched an open call to tender for preparatory work with a view to organizing training courses in energy policy for third countries under the SYNERGY programme for energy cooperation with third countries. SYNERGY intends to launch a project which will allow nationals of third countries to follow long-term post-graduate courses in a European university or specialized institute, in order to introduce students to European methods. In this way, SYNERGY is proposing the future financing of long-term training courses. The tenderer will be expected, in particular, to: - Identify institutes (universities, schools, etc.) in the European Union currently offering university level/quality training in matters of energy policy and management; - Conduct a survey in order to determine those institutes willing to adjust their courses to cater for the arrival of foreign nationals (refresher courses, where necessary); - Identify existing cooperation agreements between various institutes in the European Union and, on the other hand, between European and non-European institutes with an interest in energy policy. Requests for tender documents and completed tenders should be sent to: European Commission DG XVII - Energy Ms. Bettina Braun Unit A/4 - International cooperation on energy matters with third countries (SYNERGY) avenue de Tervuren 226-236 B-1150 Brussels Fax +32-2-2959816
