A proposal for a Council Regulation on promoting consumption in the Community and expanding the markets for milk and milk products (COM(91) 409/2 of 18.11.1991) sets out a series of measures with the above intent. Aims include: Dissemination within the Community of existing knowledge concerning the nutritional qualities of milk and milk products; research concerning, in particular, the nutritional aspects of milk and milk products; publicity and promotional campaigns within the Community; market studies aimed at expanding the markets for milk and milk products. The Commission shall communicate to the Council each year the programme of measures which it intends to take during the following year. Erratum: It should be noted that the title of the document, as given in the Official Journal, is " A proposal for a Council Regulation on promoting consumption in the Commission...of milk and milk products." However, this is not in fact the objective of the proposal.
