Results of TMR call for Euroconferences, summer schools and training courses
The European Commission, DG XII, has published the results of the third call for proposals for Euroconferences, summer schools and practical training courses made by the specific RTD programme for the training and mobility of researchers (TMR). The call was launched on 15 December 1995 (OJ No S 240 of 15.12.1995 p. 32) and the deadline for applications was 1 April 1996. In total, 208 applications were received, of which eight were deemed to be ineligible. The number of proposals by area, with the total funding requested, was as follows: - Euroconferences: 123 - ECU 10 million; - Summer schools: 60 - ECU 5 million; - Practical training courses: 17 - ECU 2 million. Of the 200 eligible proposals, a total of 58 proposals were accepted for funding. The number of events to be supported will be 141. The breakdown by area, with the average funding awarded, is as follows: - Euroconferences: 38 - ECU 69,800; - Summer schools: 15 - ECU 78,900; - Practical training courses: 5 - ECU 50,800. The funding from TMR will enable conference organizers to provide assistance with travel and subsistence costs for young researchers (up to 35 years old) attending supported events. Further calls for proposals in this area are planned to be made on 15 December 1996, 15 June 1997 and 15 December 1997. In addition, there is currently an open call, launched on 15 June 1996 (OJ No S 114 of 15.6.1996 p. 18), which closes on 30 September 1996.
