News from the Council Research Group
The Research Group of the Council of the European Union met on 16 September 1996 to continue work on the preparation of the next Research Council meeting scheduled for 7 October next. Meeting under the Irish Presidency, the group continued discussion on the mid-term review of the Fourth Framework Programme. The group's working document will now go forward to COREPER (the Committee of Permanent Representatives). A number of textual amendments agreed at the meeting will be included in this text. The provisional agenda for the Research Council of 7 October was agreed subject to approval of COREPER (the draft agenda may be consulted on the Irish Presidency homepage on the CORDIS WWW server). The group also discussed research activities into BSE currently underway in the specific programmes of the Fourth Framework Programme.
