Lifelong education - The key to the 21st century
The annual conference of the German Academy for East-West Economic Cooperation (Ost-West Wirtschaftsakademie - OWWA), held in May 1996, was dedicated to the theme "Lifelong learning and vocational training". The conference, organized within the framework of the European Year of Lifelong Learning (1996), placed particular emphasis on the further education of executives. For two days experts in management development and vocational training discussed didactic methods aimed at making learning effective, but also reasonable in terms of costs. Particular attention was paid to the use of interactive, multimedia methods to support autodidactic and distance learning.
