Synopsis of Nuclear Fission Safety projects
A book containing synopses of research projects funded by the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Nuclear Fission Safety (part of the Euratom Framework Programme) has been published by the European Commission (DG XII). The Nuclear Fission Safety programme was implemented by a single call for proposals, published on 17 January 1995 (OJ No C 12 of 17.1.1995 p. 24). The book contains details of all projects selected following the first deadline for receipt of proposals under this call (20 March 1995). A total of 105 projects are included in the book, with information on the objectives and the research to be carried out in each project, as well as contact details of the project coordinators. The projects are in the following research areas of the programme: - Exploring innovative approaches: 12 projects; - Reactor safety: 18 projects; - Radioactive waste management and disposal and decommissioning: 32 projects; - Radiological impact on man and the environment: 37 projects; - Mastering events of the past: 6 projects.
