Commission provides ECU 192 million for development of SMEs in Italy
The European Commission is to provide ECU 192 million from the Structural Funds to support the development of SMEs in Italy. The aim of the funding is to assist Italian enterprises in adapting to the Single Market and to improve their competitiveness. Measures to be funded by this programme will include: - Improvement of production systems and organization; - Promotion of technological innovation; - Development of cooperation between enterprises and research centres; - Development of networks between SME service providers, and between clients and sub-contracting SMEs; - Access of SMEs to new markets, including public sector markets in the Single Market and in third countries; - Improve the qualifications of entrepreneurs in Objective 1 regions.
