The European Commission, DG XII, has published a list of the joint research projects in the field of agriculture funded by the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of life sciences and technologies for developing countries (STD), which was part of the Third RTD Framework Programme (1990-1994). The agriculture sector of the programme focused on the reduction of the food deficit and the development of products with high economic value. In total, 157 projects were funded in the agriculture sector during the life of the programme, from a total of 1,283 proposals received. Community funding for the 157 projects amounted to ECU 73 million. The STD programme has been succeeded, under the Fourth Framework Programme, by the "Developing Countries" sector of the specific RTD programme in the field of cooperation with third countries and international organizations (INCO-DC).
