The European Commission, DG XIII, has published a report outlining the results of the "European Nervous System" (ENS) projects funded under the Telematics Applications specific RTD programme. The ENS projects, completed in 1995, were aimed at linking administrations from various levels of the Community. The ENS projects aimed to create trans-European electronic data transmission systems that are overlaid , and reliably interconnected with, the existing national systems. When ENS started in 1992, partnerships had been formed involving many levels, including public and private administrations, network operators, users, service providers and commerce and industry. A total of 25 pilot application projects were completed in different sectors. Each of these aimed at demonstrating the viability and benefit of applying trans-European telematics services to that sector. The Commission report contains details of each of these projects, including contact details.
