TETRISS - Supporting Telematics Applications for Education and Training
TETRISS is a Community support project funded under the "Education and Training" sector of the Community's Telematics Applications specific RTD programme. The project, which commenced in September 1996, aims to ensure that information on the activities and results of projects of the "Education and Training" sector are easily accessible and widely disseminated. In addition to providing a "one-stop-shop" for obtaining information on the activities of the "Education and Training" sector, TETRISS also aims to support projects in their own dissemination activities. The project is undertaking a wide range of activities which combine traditional and innovative approaches to dissemination of information, in order to ensure the widest possible audience. Actions already underway or foreseen by the project include: - Preparation of country profiles so as to develop an overview of the sector; - Survey of existing participants in the programme in order to establish subject interest and language and information delivery preferences; - Development of an information management system so as to hold key date on the projects, as well as on related initiatives at European and national level; - Running a documentation and enquiry service which will be able to answer a wide range of information requests; - Design and maintenance of a World Wide Web home page for the Education and Training sector, providing information on the projects, the sector as a whole, news and calendar of events; - Production of a "Who's Who" of organizations involved in the projects of the "Education and Training" sector; - Preparation and production of various information resources including a multimedia presentation of the sector on CD-ROM, customized information packages, etc. In addition, the TETRISS project will offer public relations support to the projects and undertake activities aimed at publicising the activities of the "Education and Training" sector of the Telematics Applications programme to a wider audience.
