The European Commission, DG XII, has launched an open call to tender for the provision of consultancy services to assist with the coordination and scientific follow-up of projects in the renewable energy area of the specific RTD programme in the field of Non-nuclear Energy (JOULE/THERMIE). Consultants will be required to assist the Commission in the evaluation of intermediate and final reports, visit contracting parties, participate in intermediate and final meetings within the context of each contract, carry out an ex-post contract evaluation, participate in a number of conferences and meetings and help the Commission with planning future RTD activities. This invitation to tender is divided into nine lots corresponding to the following sub-fields: - Lot 1. Photo-voltaic cells; - Lot 2. Photo-voltaic systems; - Lot 3. Biomass gasification; - Lot 4. Biomass treatment; - Lot 5. Biomass micro-production; - Lot 6. Wind-power energy - generic R&D; - Lot 7. Wind-power energy - machines and components; - Lot 8. Wind-power energy - applications; - Lot 9. Wave and tidal energy. Tenderers may bid for one or more of the nine lots. Each lot must be the subject of a separate tender. Contracts will run for a one-year period, with the possibility of being renewed twice.
