The European Commission, DG X, has published a call for proposals for the development of production projects as part of the implementation of the Community's MEDIA II programme of encouragement for the development and distribution of European audiovisual productions.

Among the actions to be implemented under this programme are:

- The promotion of the development of production projects for the market (the European market in particular);
- Encouragement for the development of production companies.

The call is addressed to independent European production companies whose activities contribute to the objectives outlined above.
European companies who wish to respond to this call for proposals and receive the document 'Guidelines for submitting a proposal in view of obtaining a financial contribution in the development sector' should address their requests, by mail or facsimile, to:
