Education and training for the Centre for Earth Observation
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has launched a call to tender for education and training activities relating to the work of the Centre for Earth Observation programme. The Centre for Earth Observation (CEO) programme aims at stimulating the use of Earth Observation (EO) data and at enhancing the exchange of information between EO service providers and customers. Education and training are of primary importance to the appropriate and successful use of EO data, products and information. Potential customers require the knowledge of what EO can do (education) and the skills and experience to assimilate this into existing professional tasks (training). The invitation to tender concerns the provision of education and training, products and services. The purpose of the work is to assist the development of earth observation within appropriate professional uses. The invitation to tender provides a framework within which organizations can propose work, and provides the evaluation criteria against which the proposals will be judged. The work will be undertaken by a number of separate study contracts of short duration (less than six months). All work should be completed in November 1997. Requests for tender documentation should be sent to: European Commission Joint Research Centre Mr. P.
