TACIS programme - Contract information
The European Commission, DG IA, has published a contract information brochure relating to the TACIS programme's 1996 and 1996-1997 budget for a number of the partner countries. TACIS is the European Community's technical assistance programme for the New Independent States of the former Soviet Union and Mongolia. In each budgetary year, the Commission approves a number of programmes in the partner countries as well as inter-state programmes. The recently published contract information brochure includes programmes in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Mongolia, Russia, the Ukraine and Uzbekistan, as well as a number of inter-state programmes. The programmes cover sectors such as enterprise and human resources development, transport, energy, communications and environment and food production, processing and distribution. The brochure contains a short description of each programme, including the budget available and the partner organizations involved. The Commission will launch restricted invitations to tender for the implementation of these programmes. Interested companies may submit expressions of interest for particular programmes contained in the brochure, with a view to being invited to tender when the programme comes up for tender.
