Emissions from engines and vehicles
The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender relating to testing of emissions from engines and vehicles. In order to develop and validate the technical basis upon which future emission policy is established, the Commission is seeking to enter into a framework contract for three lots, each containing two sections, with organizations/laboratories competent in the emissions testing of engines and motor vehicles for each of the areas defined below: - D3/SER/970005 - Emission testing of engines to be installed in non-road mobile machinery; - D3/SER/97006 - Emission testing of engines to be installed in motor vehicles (heavy duty engines); - D3/SER/97007 - Emission testing of light duty vehicles (such as passenger cars). Full details of the work to be carried out in both sections of each of the lots can be found in the tender documents, which are available on request from the Commission. The contracts will be for one year initially, with the possibility of extension for a second and third year depending on the results of the first section.
