Human comfort and security of information systems
A book outlining on-going research supported by the Community's ESPRIT programme in the field of human computer interaction has recently been published. The publication of the book follows a workshop bringing together representatives from projects in the "Human comfort and security" area of ESPRIT Domain 1 (software technologies). Research covered in the book includes: removing usability barriers, user-centred approaches to design, innovative user interface design, virtual reality, intelligent help and decision support. A wide variety of applications are presented, such as rail travel information, automated telephone banking, intelligent help systems for handling environmental emergencies, and 3D motion simulators.
