The European Commission, DG VII, has launched an invitation to tender for consultancy services in the area of navigation and positioning networks. In the context of the trans-European transport network, the Commission intends to conclude a contract for the provision of an internal consultancy service. In particular, the consultant will be required to: - Work on plans for a navigation and positioning network for the European Union; - Coordinate activities for the development of the European Geo-stationary Navigation Overlay Service and future generation systems, including work involving other bodies such as the European Tripartite Group; - Assist in the drafting of general policy for satellite navigation; - Provide support in dealing with relevant institutional questions. The contractor will be required to work in the Commission's offices in Brussels. The contract will cover the period of one year (220 working days), and may, if appropriate, be renewed twice for the same period.
