European working group on research and biodiversity
A working group on research and biodiversity has been established by the European Commission, within the framework of the Community's Environment and Climate specific RTD programme. The objective of the working group is to produce a common research agenda in the field of biodiversity. In order to ensure a wide input into this agenda, the group launched a questionnaire in January 1997. This questionnaire was designed to establish research areas of interest to researchers in the biodiversity field. Following analysis of the replies received, the working group has prepared a draft of its research agenda, which is due to be finalized at a meeting in Stockholm from 9 to 13 April 1997. In the meantime, the draft Biodiversity Research Agenda has been made available for comment on the World Wide Web.
