A pan-European technology network

Exchange of information at any level is critical for progress and development. With Europe expanding in terms of size and technology, it has become essential to find a successful mechanism to allow the sharing of technical knowledge not only countrywide but throughout the whole of Europe. This goal is being tackled by e-POWER.

e-POWER is a network which has been developed in order to allow technology and enterprise to come together. The network connects Regional Technology Centres (RTCs) throughout Europe not only to each other, but also to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Regional Technology Centres come in different forms. They can be institutes of research and further education such as universities or public or private organisations specialising in engineering. With different RTCs having different interests and areas of expertise, their combined knowledge and technology is massive. Contact between these Research Centres is essential to allow this knowledge to be exploited and further developed. This platform for communication is provided through e-POWER. Access to such information is vital for the growth of Europe's Small and Medium Enterprises. This communication link is provided by e-POWER, thus establishing a reciprocal relationship between RTCs and SMEs whereby each has easy contact with the other. By utilising each other's strengths and needs, new potential can be reached in terms of knowledge, technology and work capacity. With 70 RTCs already linked up, the system is taking off. Maximum potential will be reached when all RTCs and SMEs throughout Europe are networked. To meet this end e-POWER has organised promotions throughout Europe to highlight the benefits of the system and encourage all parties to get connected.
