Tourists nowadays can have a tailor made information system complete with 3D features that they can access from their mobile devices.

The most innovative aspect of this system comes from the TellMaris application. This is because it gives users an interactive, visceral interface through Tellus, a tool that supplies any sort of tourist information the user may fancy. For example, it provides information regarding sights, restaurants and events. Furthermore, such information always needs to be both current and expansive. This way, the user can search options for an event happening today in one location as well as an event happing in the future somewhere else. In order to keep such a system operating smoothly, constant updating is needed. Tellus has been using Destination Management Organisations (DMO) as information suppliers. DMOs are best suitable since they are objective, have the required knowledge and would gather this type information regardless. The Tellus DMS is a tool used by DMOs that assists in the gathering of the latest and best quality information in the specific format required by the Tellmaris project. The Tellus DMS is a user-friendly client-server application. It is found locally in each destination's LAN that updates the information and copies it into the Tellus central server. What's more is that the new interface that Tellus developed for the DMS can be run simply by using a web browser, making it even more accessible to more users.
