A diary application based on video information has been developed.

Although it may seem that diaries have become a thing of the past, there are many people still interested in recording their daily thoughts and happenings. It can provide them time to reflect as well as a source of keeping track of the little things that matter. In such a fast paced world, keeping a diary requires time and patience. However, for some like the elderly and disabled, children, and people with memory problems, the challenge of such a task can be even greater. As a means to overcome this obstacle, an EC funded project, SAID (Social Aid Interactive Development) has developed a group of telematic services, which can enhance Social Assistance via a Digital TV infrastructure. With the diary application in particular, the tool permits users to record short videos and look back at previous diary pages while being able to add or delete as they wish. This can all be done from the users' TV set and is designed to be used simply with a TV remote control.
