The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has published an invitation to tender for the provision of support to the Phatox and JRC pharmaceutical data banks.

The support required falls into three main categories as follows:

- Scientifics:
. Data collection, evaluation and validation of the toxicological sector of the databases (chemicals and pharmaceuticals);
. Computerization of the most valuable QSAR models;

- Informatics:
. Overall services, including updating programmes, new data files development, redesign and updating of retrieval and display systems;
. Database management;
. On-line access;

- Promotion and marketing, including:
. The on-line dissemination and, eventually, the CD-ROM commercialization of the data banks;
. Printing and presentation of scientific materials, in view of participation in appropriate events (workshop, conference, etc.).

The tender must cover all services as described above.
