Software integrates data functions for gas testing

Software has been developed which can log, archive and display data for use in gas testing facilities.

Safe, dependable and cost-effective sensors are important in both residences and work places. The NANOPHOS project has developed innovative phototonic nanostructured and nanocomposite media which present feasible gas sensing capabilities with a five to ten year application horizon. By integrating science and technology and through the support of industrial participation, devices and systems were tried and assessed. One of these developments is an integrated data logging, monitoring and archiving software designed by 3D Digital Design & Developments Ltd.. The software is to be used with the gas testing facility at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) in Athens, Greece. With this software the operator is able to enter data in order to identify the sensor which is being tested. Examples of data that can be entered include type, serial number, manufacturer, and test chamber conditions. The data can then be housed in a database long term. The software permits real time display of all the test facility operational factors and allows tests to be repeated from recopies of tests in the database. The software takes into consideration complete safety measures for both the operator and the testing facility. Furthermore it may be employed by other laboratories or companies regardless of the type of sensor that is used.
