The European Commission, DG III, has published the ninth call for proposals for RTD actions under the specific programme in the field of Information Technologies (ESPRIT). Eligible organizations are invited to submit proposals for RTD projects in the following areas of the 1997 ESPRIT Work Programme: - Domain 1: Software technologies: . ESSI - tasks 1.28 1.36 and 1.37; . Trial applications - task 1.32. Details of how to prepare and submit a proposal are contained in the information documents "Software best practice - ESSI" and "Technology transfer for software technologies", which may be obtained from the Commission. The indicative budget for this call for proposals is ECU 25 million. It should be noted that certain tasks remain open for proposals under the continuous submission scheme. For details of these tasks, please refer to the call for proposals launched on 15 March 1997 (OJ No C 84 of 15.3.1997 p. 15). Proposals under this scheme may be submitted at any time up to 16 September 1997.
