Dissemination of Japanese information in Europe
An invitation to tender issued by the Commission's Directorate-General for Telecommunications, Information Industries and Innovation (DG XIII) concerns the distribution in Europe of Japanese scientific, technical and economic information. The information is collected and translated in Japan and then transmitted to Europe where it is received and distributed by a European company which also forwards user's requests to the Japanese contractors. The object of the present invitation to tender is to find an enterprise to carry out the following tasks: - Provide information to, and raise the awareness of, potential users in Europe; - Define collection and transmission tasks in cooperation with the Japanese contractors; - Undertake invoicing and accounting for the collection and translation services; - Format and index the information from Japan and update the indexing vocabulary; - Feed the information into a database that is installed at the Commission and available via several European hosts; - Provide dissemination of information to users on request; - Initiate cooperation with other European enterprises having an interest in the collection and use of Japanese information. Only tenders from enterprises that have applied for the tender documents will be considered.
