The Commission intends employing service providers to assist in the appraisal and scientific and technical evaluation of research projects drawn up within the framework of the Nuclear Fission Safety programme (1990-1994). These will be required, under the control of the services of the Commission, to assist in the evaluation of interim and final reports, visit project coordinators, carry out an ex-post evaluation of the project results, and attend initial, interim and final meetings within the framework of the appraisal. The invitation to tender is divided into six lots corresponding to the following fields: - Lot 1) Reactor safety; - Lot 2) Radioactive waste management; - Lot 3) Geological storage of radioactive waste; - Lot 4) Decommissioning and remote handling of nuclear facilities; - Lot 5) Radiobiology and epidemiology; - Lot 6) Radioecology, radiosimetry, evaluation of radiation hazards. Tenderers may tender for one or several of the six lots referred to above. However, a separate tender must be made for each lot and each tender must cover the whole lot to which it relates.
