The European Commission has approved the award of finance from the Cohesion Fund for environmental infrastructure projects in Spain, Greece, Ireland and Portugal. The projects to be supported are as follows: - Spain: ECU 11 million for a sanitation scheme in Aljarafe, in the province of Seville; - Greece: ECU 1.5 million for a drinking water supply network in Veria; - Ireland: ECU 72 million for: the National Water Conservation Project (ECU 5.5 million); Limerick Water Supply (ECU 5.8 million); and the Cork Main Drainage Scheme (ECU 60.9 million); - Portugal: ECU 53 million for: three solid waste treatment networks in the North-East coastal strip (ECU 22 million); Vale do Sousa (ECU 15 million) and Vale do Ave (ECU 10 million); and a waste water treatment project in Vila Real de Santa Antonio (ECU 6 million).
