The European Commission, DG X, has launched the tenth 1997 call for proposals under the MEDIA II - Development and Distribution programme for support for development of production projects and production companies.

Under the MEDIA II programme, the Commission may give financial support for independent European production companies whose activities contribute to the following objectives:

- Promoting the development of production projects aimed in particular at the European market;
- Encouraging the development of production companies.

Companies wishing to respond to this call for proposals should obtain the document "Guidelines for the submission of proposals to obtain Community financial support in the development sector" from the Commission.
