Coordination of Member States' science and technology policies
The European Commission, DG XII, has published an invitation to tender concerning two studies to be carried out within the context of the coordination of the science and technology policies of the Member States. The tender concerns the following two studies: - A: Modalities of contracting research activities in publicly supported research institutions and the business sector in the EU Member States; - B: Cross-border cooperation within national RTD programmes. The objective of the studies is to gain an improved understanding of the problems involved in RTD promotion by the national authorities related to these topics. Particular attention will be paid to the comparative analysis of the established situations and the applicable rules in the Member States, the USA and Japan. On the basis of these studies, the Commission's services wish to increase the transparency and mutual understanding of the RTD support mechanisms in these countries. Tenderers may submit tenders for one or both studies. Each tender should, however, be the subject of a separate tender. The studies should be completed within eight months.
