PC-CREAM is a software application developed for the European Commission, DG XI, which assesses the consequences of radioactive discharges in normal operations. The package, which runs on ordinary PCs, contains a suite of models and data for performing radiological impact assessments of routine and continuous discharges of radionuclides. The main features of the package are: - A suite of environmental transfer models to estimate the transfer of radionuclides through the environment; - Modelling of annual discharge to the atmospheric, marine or river environment; - A comprehensive list of exposure pathways; - Results in terms of individual or collective doses, using effective dose as defined in ICRP60; - Facility to assess the radiological impact of discharges of radionuclides from virtually any site, including nuclear power plants and nuclear fuel cycle facilities, for regulatory purposes and/or health impact studies.
