Renovation study of the Jean Monnet Building, Luxembourg
The Commission of the European Communities invites tenders for a study, to be carried out by a specialized organization or bureau, of the state of the Jean Monnet Building, on the Kirchberg plateau in Luxembourg, and of the work which would be needed to: - Compensate for the natural ageing of the building; - Update the technical design (which dates back some 20 years); - Incorporate technical advances, particularly those related to safety; - Reduce the building's high operating costs; - Find ways of alleviating lack of space in order to increase accommodation. The main purpose of the study is to define, describe, plan and cost the work necessary for a general overhaul of the building, the modernization of the various technical systems, incorporating current standards of health and safety at work, and the provision of working and operating conditions comparable to those offered by a modern building, together with work deriving from the Commission's specific needs.
