A report entitled "DELTA '92" describes current activities and projects within the EC programme of research and development in telematic systems for flexible and distance learning (DELTA). Following a 1991 call for proposals launching the specific programme of RTD in "Telematic systems in areas of general interest", of which DELTA is a part, 22 projects were selected covering all aspects of the DELTA workplan. These involve a total of 232 different partners from EC Member States and EFTA countries. The report outlines the background to the current action plus the overall planning and expected project outcome. The new action represents both a consolidation and development of results obtained during the two-year DELTA Exploratory Action, with a necessary change of emphasis towards implementation of telematics-based flexible and distance learning. Pilot experiments, more networking, evaluation and market orientation are key features of this approach. An 82-page Annex sets out the objectives, technical approach, key issues and intended impact of each project. Lists of participants plus contact addresses are included.
