MEDIA II - Call for proposals for development and distribution
The European Commission, DG X, has published call for proposals 11/97 within the MEDIA II programme which supports the development and distribution of European audiovisual productions. The call is addressed to European companies whose activities contribute to the objectives of the programme. In particular, it is aimed at companies involved in the distribution of film and audiovisual material, video producers, television broadcasting companies and independent producers. Four separate types of support may be granted: - Procedure 3.1: Support for the transnational distribution of European films and the networking of distributors; - Procedure 3.2: Support for video and multimedia distribution and dissemination of European films and audiovisual programmes; - Procedure 3.3: Support for television diffusion of European audiovisual productions; - Procedure 3.4: Support for the marketing of commercial rights for European audiovisual productions. Prospective applicants for support under the MEDIA II programme should obtain the "Guidelines for submitting a proposal with a view to obtaining financial support for the distribution of European audiovisual and film productions" from the Commission. Requests should note the type of support in which the applicant is interested.
