The European Commission is inviting candidates from a range of industries, including environmental protection, computer software and the leisure sector, to apply for a series of nine-day study tours to Japan. The scheme will give European managers employed by companies with a strong interest in exporting to Japan, but with little or no direct experience of the Japanese market, the chance to immerse themselves in Japanese business culture through presentations, meetings and field trips. The Export to Japan Study Programme (EJSP) is sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). A number of places on trips in November 1997 and March 1998 are being offered by JETRO to candidates supported by the European Commission. Applications for these places should be sent directly to the Commission.
