Euroabstracts - June 1997
The third 1997 edition of "Euroabstracts", which provides information on recent publications on RTD and related areas from the European Community, has been published. Section I focuses on satellite communications and developments in this field from Europe. Recent policy developments from the Commission include the publication of its action plan on satellite communications, which aims to ensure that European manufacturers take a leading role in developing the sector, and a communication on a European space strategy. As well as a round-up of recent publications from the Community and from certain third countries addressing aspects of research and innovation policy, other features include the development of electronic publishing and reports from the European Innovation Monitoring System (EIMS). The "Webwatch" section highlights CORDIS' Fifth Framework Focus service. Section II contains abstracts of almost 300 publications, including full bibliographic details. The subjects covered include: chemistry; earth sciences; engineering and technology; energy production, conversion and conservation; life sciences; materials; mathematics, computers, telecommunications; nuclear science and engineering; and physics. "Euroabstracts" is a publication of the Community's INNOVATION programme for the dissemination and optimization of research results.
