Socio-economic and cultural factors in air pollution epidemiology
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a report on "Socio-economic and cultural factors in air pollution epidemiology". The report, part of the "Air Pollution Epidemiology Reports Series" produced by the Environment and Climate research programme, is based on the results of a European Commission research workshop held, in Brussels, Belgium, in March 1995. The report addresses the various confounding and modifying impacts that social, economic, ethnic and cultural factors may have on the time-activity patterns, levels of air pollution exposures, health status and questionnaire responses of different groups in a community. It also discusses the techniques by which socio-economic and cultural factors can be measured and incorporated into study designs in air pollution epidemiology.
