Authorizations for State aid (cases where the Commission raises no objections) include: - Germany: A research programme on new materials, Freistaat Bayern (MECU 21.9); a Bavarian programme for technology introduction (MECU 61.8); grants to promote the R&D potential of SMEs in the new Laender (MECU 134.1); aid to commercial firms awarding R&D contracts to the new Laender and East Berlin (MECU 23.4); R&D loans for SMEs to promote introduction of new technologies (MECU 977); aid for contract R&D awarded by commercial firms in the new Laender (MECU 56.1); research staff aid in the new Laender (MECU 77.5); direct grants to enterprises, institutes and universities under "biotechnology development programme 2000" (MECU 749.3); promotion of microelectronics applications, Hamburg (MECU 7.3); aid to fundamental and basic research in physical technologies (MECU 233.2); grants to assist development of new products and processes in SMEs in the new Laender (MECU 65.7); aid to basic research into new materials (MECU 376.8).
