PRINCE - Priority information actions for the European citizen
The European Commission, DG X, has published information on the three priority information actions for the European citizen, collectively known as PRINCE. In particular, the information includes details of participation possibilities. The three actions are: - "The euro: A currency for Europe": this aims to provide information on the introduction of a single currency in Europe; - "Citizens first": this is designed to raise awareness and provide information on opportunities for individuals within the Single Market; - "Building Europe together": designed to encourage discussion among Europeans on major European policies and the development of the EU. Each of these actions is guided by the principles of decentralization, subsidiarity, partnership and coordination between the European institutions, as well as closeness to the citizen. Any organization representing civil society can propose communication actions addressing one or several of the themes of the three PRINCE actions. As long as these proposals meet the eligibility criteria, the Commission can give support, either financial or through providing speakers and information material, within the limits of available resources.
