The Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Industrial and Materials Technologies (BRITE/EURAM III) has just launched a new, improved Home Page on the CORDIS WWW server. The BRITE/EURAM programme provides support to industry, academia and research organizations for pre-competitive collaborative and cooperative research in materials, design and manufacturing technologies. In addition, the programme includes a special emphasis on transport sectors - aeronautics, automobiles, ships and trains. The main aims of the programme are to: - Stimulate technological innovation; - Encourage traditional sectors of industry to incorporate new technologies and processes; - Promote multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary technologies; - Develop scientific and technological collaboration. The BRITE/EURAM Home Page has proved a very popular source of information on the programme, with an average of over 15,000 accesses per month since the beginning of 1997. The site offers a useful and regularly updated source of information on the programme, providing access to the BRITE/EURAM Work Programme, as well as information on current calls, how to apply and the current contractual arrangements for accepted projects. The new, improved BRITE/EURAM Home Page will, in addition, allow users to browse with ease through projects supported under both BRITE/EURAM II and BRITE/EURAM III. It also makes it possible to carry out searches on a range of criteria: by sub-area of the Work Programme, by country or type of main contractor, or on the basis of key words. The detailed information provided (project summaries, full text of final reports, contact details, etc.) is accessed directly from the CORDIS RTD-Projects database. The site also features a selection of BRITE/EURAM "Success Stories" and provides access to results of completed projects. The latest programme news, publications and useful contact points complete this new and valuable information service.
