INTERPRISE - Call for proposals
The European Commission, DG XXIII, has published a call for proposals for INTERPRISE events to be held between 1 October 1998 and 30 September 1999. The INTERPRISE programme aims to encourage partnership between industries and/or services in Europe. In particular, it funds meetings at which senior representatives of SMEs are offered a series of pre-arranged, face-to-face business meetings with counterparts from other countries. Through these meetings, cross-border cooperation agreements may be established, stimulating the transnational business activities of SMEs. For events to be eligible for funding from the Commission, they must be aimed at establishing contacts between SMEs. Proposals must be submitted by at least three bodies - one main organizer and two partners - from three different EU Member States and or EEA states. Each partner must demonstrate its commitment to bring at least 15 companies from its area to the event. The Commission will provide funding of a maximum of 50% of the total budget, up to ECU 60,000. The deadlines for submission of proposals are as follows: - For events between 1 October and 31 December 1998: 31 December 1997; - For events between 1 January and 31 March 1999: 31 March 1998; - For events between 1 April and 30 June 1999: 30 June 1998; - For events between 1 July and 30 September 1999: 30 September 1998.
