Conformance testing services
The Commission gives notice of a call for proposals for the provision of conformance testing services. The restricted procedure call, for the setting up of "conformity to standards" testing services in telecommunications and information technology, concerns limited and specified technical areas which will complement the existing programme (last related calls in OJ No C 125 of 15.5.1991 and OJ No. C 59 of 9.3.1990). Abbreviated titles of technical areas to be covered by the call comprise: - Areas T1-T7: PSTN NET4; Q-SIG; GSM network components; DSRR; ISDN packet-mode X 31; CTR testing; PCI for ISDN. - Areas I1-I12: DTP; PCTE; OSI network management; VDU ergonomics; EMC; CGI; CAD/CAM pre-and post-processors; security; VT; SQL; Posix; inter-library loan. Centres wishing to offer such services will be required to offer them equally to all EC Members and to coordinate their work into a Community-wide mutual recognition scheme. Activities such as the development of testing tools and acquiring equipment may be eligible for funding as part of the support proposals. Hence, developers of test methods should collaborate with centres wishing to offer test services. Applications must include a list of similar studies plus proof of expertise in this area and of Community coverage. Detailed specifications and invitation to submit proposals will be sent out by the Commission no later than 15 June 1992.
