The council of AZTI has confirmed the integration in Tecnalia

The last 13th of September AZTI, the research centre of fishing, agro-feeding and environment, after the meeting of the council, confirmed its decision to integrate in Tecnalia. Tecnalia is constituted by the research centres Inasmet, Labein and Robotiker.,

AZTI has taken that decision because it has the same opinion as the rest of the members about the roll of research centres as well as about the new opportunities such alliance offers. That way, they could provide new products and services to customers and sectors and they would response to a better, multiple and more globalised innovation and technology requirements. Tecnalia would have a turnover of 48 millions in the year 2002 with the integration of AZTI and the research team would increase to 850 members. The integration of AZTI in Tecnalia means to establish the relationship with the current members, as it has been working with them for several years in various projects. Tecnalia and AZTI have also defined the synergy between their technical and technological groups. AZTI provides the new action sectors in which it is specialised, such as marine environment, fishing and feeding, to Tecnalia. The challenges those sectors must face show their importance technologically and socially. It should be underlined that important synergies are expected in the internationalisation of the centres. The wide experience of AZTI in European projects and the experience of the members of Tecnalia has open the possibility to work in common strategies in the 6th European Framework Programme. In addition, the delegations of AZTI in Chile and Argentina will act as a bridge between Tecnalia and Latin America.,Contact : ,Raul Lopez de Gere?u ,AZTI FUNDAZIOA ,rgerenu@suk.azti.es ,(+34) 946029400,
