Advancell receives ISO9001: 2000 certification from the German group TUV

BARCELONA. Advanced In Vitro Cell Technologies SL (Advancell) announced the obtainment of the certification ISO9001:2000 from the German group TUV. The certification applies to the development, production and commercialisation of products and research projects based on "in vitro" cell cultures technologies to be used in the study of the working mechanisms and ADMEt properties of certain molecules.

The company is currently launching its first ready to use cellular kits and tools for studying GI passage, hepatic metabolism and adypocyte differentiation. Advancell is operational since the end of 2001. The company has been set up by researchers of the University of Barcelona and Valencia. Its basic research platforms are in cancer, skin diseases, skin cosmetics, ADMEt, inflammation and biocompatibility. The company has established an extensive network of academic collaborators that allows a great flexibility in a la carte exploratory research. Current strategic cooperation agreements enable Advancell to access a wide variety of techniques related to early preclinical research. At present Advancell occupies laboratory and office space at the Barcelona Science Park (http://www.pcb.ub.es). It has operations in Valencia and Barcelona.
