Lighting in Museums assessment and control

Workshop on LiDo, taking place November 27 28, 2003 at the Rondo di Bacco, Palazzo Pitti, Florence, Italy

Workshop objectives,- To increase awareness of the effect of light on cultural heritage.,- To promote a new preventive conservation tool.,- To present the development and results of a novel method for monitoring light.,- To contribute to a better understanding of artificial versus natural light aging of materials.,- To improve networking between different projects on related topics. Who should attend,- Curators, conservators and heritage managers.,- Scientists, engineers, architects and technicians concerned with the display of museum objects.,- Manufacturers and suppliers of products and equipment for the protection of cultural of heritage. Support,The Lido-project (EVK4-CT2000-00016) is supported by the European Commission under the Fifth Framework Programme, contributing to the implementation of the Key Action The city of tomorrow and cultural heritage within the Programme Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development. Complimentary funding is provided by the project partners. Preliminary Programme on request. Registration,Please send back the reply-form to the local organiser AND the registration form (both on demand) to the agency, giving your name and address BEFORE 30 September 2003. A maximum of 80 participants will be accepted. Registration at the beginning of the workshop is possible only, if there are free seats available. You will receive a confirmation of your registration before 15 October 2003. The registration fee is 100 Euro; it includes two coffee breaks, free tickets for the visit of the Uffizi Gallery and the dinner on 27 November 2003. Payment must be made in advance. All necessary information is given on the registration form. The presentation of posters will be limited to invited topics.
