Call for Proposals: ANKA - Synchrotron Light for Non-Destructive Analysis of Materials

ANKA, the synchrotron light source of the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, will be providing a total of 3000 hours of beamtime for research purposes every six months. Free access for scientists after peer review by an international expert commission and the commitment to publish the experimental results. Long term projects also may be requested.

The advantages of the synchrotron light source ANKA compared to conventional light sources are:,- a continuous, structure-free emission spectrum from the far-infrared to the hard X-ray range (0.5 meV to 40 keV) ,- orders of magnitude higher intensity ,- higher brillance ,- high resolution of the beam reaching the sample ,- polarization of the light and low beam divergence Field of Applications:,X-ray absorption spectroscopy l X-ray diffraction l X-ray topography l Micro-fluorescence-analysis l Protein crystallography l LIGA (deep X-ray lithography) masks, microstructures l Infrared spectroscopy, microscopy and ellipsometry Call for Proposals:,Free access for scientists after peer review by an international expert commission Application forms: http://www.fzk.de/anka,Deadline(opens in new window): 31 December 2003
