EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation - Programmes for business
The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation runs a number of programmes to help European businesses develop their relations with Japanese companies and markets. Over 700 European managers and researchers have participated in these programmes over the past ten years. Through these programmes, European businesses can gain an understanding and appreciation of the industry, management and business environment, along with the culture, language, society and traditions that make Japan unique and successful. Recently the Centre also started programmes to place Japanese students and young executives in European companies and young Europeans in Japanese companies. The Centre is currently seeking applications from European managers for two training programmes in Japan: - HRTP-Japan Industry Insight programme: This provides an integrated in-depth view of Japanese business, management and industry through a mixture of lectures, field trips and seminars, cross-cultural management training and individual company visits. Two sessions of 11 weeks are held each year. Applications for the Spring programme (May - July) should be received by the end of February. For the Winter programme (January - March) applications should be received by the end of October. - Challenge Towards World Class Manufacturing programme: this will give participants a better understanding of Japanese production processes including Kaizen or incremental improvement, TPM - Total Productive Maintenance, and TQM - Total Quality Management. The next session will take place from 13 to 24 April 1998 and applications should be submitted by mid-February.
