Neurobiology - A cluster of Human Capital and Mobility research networks
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a booklet describing the activities and results of a thematic cluster of research networks, supported by the Community's Human Capital and Mobility (HCM) programme, working in the field of neurobiology. This publication contributes to an overview of the state-of-the-art of neurosciences in Europe, describing such various themes as cognitive capacities, motor systems, spatial representation of information, and reproductive behaviour. The research undertaken in the framework of the neurobiology cluster touches on some of the most crucial issues in our society - namely, the therapy of drug addiction and combatting pain, both of which have an enormous economic impact on Europe's healthcare systems.
