The Italian company Biolab establishes a new branch at the Barcelona Science Park

The Italian enterprise Biolab S.p.A. has set up a new Spanish subsidiary at the Parc Cientific de Barcelona (PCB, Barcelona Science Park). Called Biolab Espa?ola de Analisis e Investigacion, this company provides specialized technical and scientific services aimed at improving the safety, hygiene, efficacy and quality of products and manufacturing processes.

It does this mainly in the chemicalpharmaceutical and agro-alimentary sectors. Biolab has chosen the PCB as the site for its Spanish subsidiary, with the aim to promote its research activity in Europe and provide Spanish companies and public research centres access to the portfolio of services and know-how developed over its 30 years of operations., ,Biolab has a network of laboratories, distributed throughout Italy, with equipment and staff specialized in several fields, such as pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical microbiology, toxicology, molecular biology, bromatology, alimentary microbiology and agricultural chemistry. This company also carries out R+D activities on new analytical and diagnostic methods, new products and manufacturing processes. Research also addresses the development of innovative systems for the control of production lines and product distribution and genetic improvements for the agricultural and stockbreeding sectors. In addition, Biolab offers an assessment service on the procedures, requirements and technical documentation necessary for the register and certification of products and also organizes specialized training on analytical techniques and sessions on troubleshooting in each sector. From its new site at the PCB, Biolab will provide the same services as its Italian mother company and will develop its own research lines in collaboration with the scientific and technical services at the Park.
