Euro-Asian Business Internship Programme (EABIP) - Pilot project with Japan and China
The European Commission's Directorate-General for External Relations has published an invitation to tender relating to the implementation of a business internship pilot project, in cooperation with Japan and China. The Commission wishes to conclude a contract for the provision of technical assistance and the implementation of a "Euro-Asian Business Internship Programme" (EABIP) pilot project with Japan and China. The project, to be implemented within the framework of the ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) follow-up, is aimed at establishing closer ties between European and Japanese/Chinese students. This is to be done by stimulating European students' interest in Japan/China and vice versa through a low-cost, short-term exchange programme envisaged for students in the final or penultimate year of their first degree. The award of this contract is subject to financing being approved and made available. The intention is to conclude a contract for a duration of 18 months with completion end of 1999.
