CEAF Project has taken its course
CEAF stimulating participation of central European countries in the agri-food sector in FP6 was officially launched on 1 October 2004. The Project is created in the framework of Priority 5 - Food Quality and Safety of FP6 and is Specific Support Actions (SSA) for the new member states. It contributes to the creation of synergy for virtual networking and strengthening cooperation in the area of Food Quality and Safety with partners from new member states contributing to the creation of the European Research Area (ERA) in central Europe. The aim of CEAF is to enhance a lack of funds in the central European countries in horticulture and floriculture sector and to implement a set of activities aiming at favouring the participation of research organisation from the new member states in FP6. CEAF involves nine partners from Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, Hungary, Estonia and the Netherlands. They are mainly representatives of research and academic institutions. The coordinator of CEAF comes from the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences. For participation it welcomes all kind of institutions from partnering countries active in horticulture and floriculture: SMEs, research institutes, universities, governmental organisations and other type of associations. CEAF's objectives will be achieved through a series of profiled workshops, trainings and consultancies led by EC and Dutch experts. Project participants will gain knowledge of consortium building for IP and NoE, project management, legal, financial and contractual issues and receive information on current and planned calls under TP5 of FP6. During a series of practical workshops they will write project proposals. They will learn how to identify and select potential project partners and will make fruitful contacts for future co-operation. ,During the Project training and information materials and partner search catalogue of researchers from academia & industry from the new member states will be provided.
